Nestled discreetly on the first floor of an office building at 591 Camino De La Reina in San Diego, Jane's Cafe is a beloved local breakfast and lunch spot that perfectly marries fresh, wholesome ingredients with warm, inviting service. The cozy, unpretentious atmosphere makes it an ideal refuge for both busy professionals in the neighborhood and adventurous visitors seeking a true taste of San Diego’s breakfast scene.
Jane’s menu offers an impressive variety that honors classic comfort food while embracing thoughtful, health-conscious choices. Imagine starting your day with the creamy richness of the Alaska Avocado Toast, featuring perfectly ripe avocado atop hearty whole grain bread, or indulging in the warm, sugary goodness of their Cinnamon Roll. For those craving a heartier meal, the Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito bursts with robust, smoky flavors, while the Atlantic Omelette delights with fresh seafood accents.
One cannot overlook their exceptional coffee offerings, including the delicate, floral notes of a Lavender Latte—a sublime companion to any breakfast or lunch plate. On the lighter side, the Organic Acai Bowl serves up a refreshing and energizing blend of vibrant berries and superfoods, perfect for those looking for a nutritious boost without sacrificing flavor.
Whether you opt for the savory Breakfast Egg Sandwich enhanced by your choice of ham, bacon, or the unique soy chorizo, or you prefer the comforting stack of the French Toast Combo paired with eggs cooked just how you like them, every dish at Jane’s embodies a balance of freshness and satisfaction. The Veggie Omelette and Mexican-inspired Chilaquiles Verdes showcase how diverse and customizable the menu really is, catering to omnivores and those seeking vegan-friendly modifications alike.
Customers consistently praise the friendly, attentive staff who go the extra mile to personalize dishes—whether “veganizing” a breakfast burrito or recommending the day’s fresh catch for the Bagel Lox. Chelsea from Europe highlights the quality of the whole grain bread and “great coffee,” calling Jane’s a “hidden gem.” Patrick appreciates how the team embraced dietary preferences, ensuring a personalized, delightful dining experience. While some guests note the cafe’s modest presentation with paper plates and the casual setting tucked inside a business center, many find the food so satisfying and reasonably priced that it eclipses any superficial downsides.
Jane’s Cafe does not just serve meals; it crafts moments of comfort and genuine flavor in every dish, making it a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic, flavorful start to their day or a delicious midday break in San Diego.
This is a hidden gem, came here from europe on vacation and found this a fantastic place with good whole grain bread great coffee and delicious breakfast choices. Staff is super friendly and prices are friendly as well. 5 stars!!
We came to this little cute cafe while in town for breakfast one morning. It's located in the downstairs area of an office building. The cashier was friendly and we all ordered a different combo. I personally got the French toast combo which came with scrambled eggs and chose of meat. The food was good minus the eggs they was meh. Food was also served on paper plates. I left full so it was ok.
Great, fresh food at a very good price compared to all the hotel restaurants in the area. Walked here after being dissatisfied with menu and cost at my hotel. Staff was very friendly and food was tasty. Got the organic açaí bowl
Hidden on the 1st floor of an office building, we stumbled accidentally on this hidden gem with excellent bagel breakfast. Recommend!
Jane's is a small spot on a business center. It's a perfect spot for the regulars who work in the area, but a hidden gem if you don't know of it. There's a nice menu to suit almost any omnivore, but although the menu doesn't cater to vegans, they took the time to help "veganize" a nice meal for me. They have soy chorizo and can pull together a mean breakfast burrito in no time. Delicious!
I never knew this place existed until today and I live next door. It popped up on UberEats. It’s delicious. I ordered the chipotle chicken wrap, pasta salad and Greek yogurt parfait. The wrap was massive. Everything was excellent. This will be lunch and dinner. Can’t wait to try more. Nowhere in San Diego will you find a giant, fresh, delicious wrap for $7.50. A hidden gem. It’s at the first floor of a large corporate building. I’m glad I read other reviews on how to find it. When you pull in the parking lot, drive around the building to the left side/south of the building. It’s right in that door on your left.
A HIDDEN GEM ~ off Camino de la Reina - past Trader Joe’s parking lot & turn left at Camino de la Siesta! GO TO the BACK SIDE of big 12 story building on LEFT SIDE of street - EXCELLENT FIND/SPECIALS- my grilled salmon/yummy yellow rice & LOVELY FRESH GRILLED VEG MEDLEY was WONDERFUL. LOVELY PORTIONS! Kind, gracious owner, servers & TERRIFICALLY CLEAN‼. GET HERE BEFORE 3PM!! GREAT VARIETY OF FOOD ON MENU! 10 /10
This hidden spot has been one I wanted to try for awhile. I am glad I did! The customer service was hands down some of the best I have ever had. Jane helped me and answered all of my questions. The food is simple, yet delicious. The house red sauce is a must try with eggs and potatoes. The cinnamon roll is also VERY delicious. Mr. Jane was also nice and helpful. The cafe was clean and organized. Even though this spot is inside an office building, the service makes it more quaint than the outside may look. I will be back to try some more menu items. Thanks again for a great meal!
